Step by step

Feel free to contact us by email, telling who you are, your nationalities and your country of residence. We also need to know, if either of you has been married before.
Give us a short description of your plans and wishes, and we will get back to you to confirm and to advice you about the documents, so that we can start planning your wedding.

Scan and email your documents to us no later than 4 weeks before your preferred wedding date. When we receive the documents, we will have them checked by the local authorities. If further documentation or legalization is necessary, we will contact you. When everything is approved, we will confirm your wedding date by email.

We can advise you on accommodations and on how to travel to Bornholm but the actual booking you will make yourself. We are also available for booking extra arrangements you might want.

Please note, that you need to arrive no later than two days before the wedding with all your original documents. If the wedding is Saturday, Sunday or Monday, you need to arrive no later than Thursday. We will guide you to Rønne Town Hall where the original documents must be presented to the local authorities for final approval.

You are therefore required to stay on the island for one night, as the wedding usually takes place the next day at Rønne Town Hall, unless you have wished for another location. If necessary, we will provide 2 witnesses. We arrange a toast and can also help taking some pictures with your own camera.

Immediately after the ceremony you receive your marriage certificate (in 5 languages). Afterwards we arrange for an “apostille” on the second certificate, which you should receive within 2-3 weeks.
